China International Television Documentary Channel (Channel call sign: CGTN-Documentary) is an English documentary channel, (the English version of the former CCTV Documentary Channel) started broadcasting on January 1, 2011.

On January 1, 2011, the English documentary channel was broadcast together with the CCTV-Chinese documentary channel, and the documentary was broadcast 24 hours a day. The channel mainly broadcasts in English, and the broadcasting area is not only in mainland China, but also in overseas areas. This version is different from the content of the program broadcast in the Chinese version. The English version broadcasts documentaries produced and broadcast by CCTV 24 hours a day. After the launch, the channel broadcasted 3 hours of premiere programs every day. After two revisions, it was changed to 4 hours of premiere programs every day. The documentaries aired at the beginning of the broadcast were dubbed in Chinese with English subtitles, and then documentaries dubbed in English began to be broadcast. On January 7, 2014, CGTN-Documentary realized HD and SD simulcast. The high-definition version was divided into two forms: the domestic version and the Hong Kong broadcast version at the end of 2014. Among them, the upper right corner of the domestic version has the word "HD" (abbreviation for "high definition" in English), while in the version broadcast by RTHK, the upper right corner is the "RTHK33" logo of RTHK, without the word "HD".

CGTN-Documentary English Documentary Channel is the second English channel after CCTV English News Channel (CGTN-NEWS). On December 31, 2016, China International Television Station (China Global Television Network CGTN) was established. The channel belongs to CGTN and was renamed "China Global Television Network Records International Channel".
