China Global Television News Channel (channel call sign: CGTN) is China's first global English-language channel and also China's first news channel broadcast in a non-native language.

At 19:00 Beijing time on April 26, 2010, the original ninth program of China Central Television, the English International Channel (CCTV-9), was renamed and rebranded as the English News Channel (CCTV-NEWS) (from January 1, 2011, CCTV-9 It is the record channel of CCTV); in November of the same year, it won the "Window of the Nation" award of the Italian "Hot Bird" TV award. From December 29, 2014, the English news channel was officially broadcast in the CCTV headquarters building. On September 1, 2016, the English news channel fully realized the simultaneous broadcast of high-definition and standard-definition at home and abroad.

On December 31, 2016, China Global Television Network (CGTN) was established, and the English news channel became the main channel of China Global Television Network.
