About

Established in 1979 in the sunny city of Brisbane, 4MBS began life as a small community classical music radio station, broadcasting on 103.7FM. Today, we are one of Australia’s premiere community radio stations, producing three different radio services. We also produce festivals, plays and concerts, and provide arts and educational services. ​

Our Mission

To promote, entertain, and educate people about classical music and related arts. In addition to broadcasting, we provide performance and employment opportunities for Queensland talent – not only musicians, but actors, directors, composers, writers, and lighting and set designers. ​​​4MBS is also recognised for its promotion of young and emerging musicians, and artists through many school, university and community based activities. ​
